Joshua Strand

(Engineer & Producer)

After graduating from SAE with a Bachelor of Recording Arts, Josh was mentored by producer Djeisan Suskov (BENEE, Leisure) before working as the Head Studio A Engineer at Parachute Studios (2022-2025). He has been recognised by the local music community as the go-to mix engineer for emerging hip-hop, pop, and alternative acts. Josh has since moved across the ditch to Melbourne, with plans to expand his network and collaborate with emerging bands in Australia.

Josh is available for production, engineering, mixing, and mastering, specialising in Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Alternative projects. Some of his recent musical influences include Frank Ocean, Daniel Caesar, Lizzy McAlpine, Clairo, Ryan Beatty, Spacey Jane, SZA, Gracie Abrams, Dijon, Mk.Gee, and Tame Impala.

When he’s not in the studio, Josh is touring with bands Balu Brigada, Who Shot Scott, Daily J, and Will Swinton as FOH Engineer and Production Manager. Having mixed countless sold out international tours and festivals, Josh has experience working with many different systems. From arenas to festivals, Josh’s creative approach to live mixing is informed by his understanding of the studio recording and mixing process, giving a creative edge to his live sound work.

Josh is always aiming to serve the artist intention from start to finish, working on the details that matter to create an authentic, exciting, and defined song. Some of his recent commercial clients include Les Mills, Sony Music, Warner Music, Universal Music. Radio jingle clients include PB Tech, HRV Ventilation and Vega Mortgages.

  • Mix turnaround is generally 7 days. Production can vary on the workload from 1 to 4 weeks on average.

  • For production projects, we can start from scratch or from an exisiting rough demo. You should deliver multitracks in wave file 32 bit format.

    For mix projects, we require multitracks in wave file 32 bit format.

    For mastering projects, we require a final mix stereo wave file in 32 or 24 bit.

  • We will work closely with artist to finish the project within a reasonable timeline. Three revisions are included in the fixed mix rate. After that it is charged at an hourly rate. We find most mixes are nailed within 2-3 revisions and the client is happy.
